Formed by former Astrofaes bassist, Khorus, and later joined by Helg (Runes Of Dianecht) and Khaoth (Tessaract, ex-Astrofaes, ex-Hate Forest), Khors play Black Metal in the Ukrainian style, that combines a somber atmosphere together with rich melodies.

Since their formation, Khors have quickly garnered a reputation for their unforgettable live performances, playing alongside Obtest, Behemoth, Butterfly Temple, Bloodrain, and many more.

Why does this CD have to end? Why isn't it a double set? I just love this album! It has been playing steadily ever since I got it. The only bad point about Mysticism is that it only lasts 38 minutes.

From the very cool cover art to the last note, this release is awesome! From their far away Ukraine, founder Khorus and co. have composed and recorded one hell of a pleasant, and addictive, opus of brilliant atmospheric Black Metal. Mysticism goes down your hearing installation as easily as your morning coffee or your Friday/Saturday night beer. Khors had the great idea to include all the best elements found in Black Metal: mid tempos, a gloomy atmosphere, crushing riffs, ambient keyboards, excellent vocals (rasps and clean), intelligent songwriting and the exquisite tonalities of an acoustic electric guitar. To make all this good stuff even more attractive, it was wrapped in a superb sound production. Khors have concentrated their efforts on the melodic aspects of Black Metal, and written some fine musical harmonies. Those harmonious moments are often found on delicate arpeggios, only embellished by the fine sound of the acoustic electric guitar. Khors can also come up with some kicking Black Metal parts, as you can witness in songs like "Winterfall", "In the Cold Embrace of Mist" and "Mysticism". Two instrumentals also take place in this Nordic scenery. Opener "Through the Rays of Fading Moon" sets the gloomy atmosphere while "Pagan Scars" is where the awesome sound of my favorite instrument is omnipresent. "Red Mirrors" closes the opus in a beautiful Pink Floyd-ish way.

For those who know that Black Metal art is all about atmosphere, and with a liking for intelligent songwriting filled with great harmonies, Mysticism is here to enjoy often, very often.
