My buddy Lou told me about this band, he said "This is some sewage-spawn guttural death metal redefining modern death metal to a new level of retardated brutality", and I always believe Lou. Sent me the album, and guess what, that fucken bastard is right. Ingurgitate is a sick-as-fuck brutal death metal band from deep in the heart of Texas, where the stars at night are big and bright and all bullshit.

This clocks in at a little over 20 minutes with only 8 tracks. Short as fuck, but still very brutal and it keeps you headbanging through the whole damn thing. That's a 25 minute neck workout right there, you couldn't fucken beat that if you were Tony Little (The Gazelle guy).

The vocals are excellent, deep guttural growls. I'm pretty sure there are no lyrics, just growls, but who the fuck cares? It's brutal and satanic, that's all that counts. They've got brutal break-downs and chugs similar to Texas's mighty Devourment (RIP). The drums are all programmed, this was recorded before they got their drummer, but these are some damn fine programmed drums. They fit the music perfectly, pounding the fuck out of your ears.

The album flows nicely and there's a little break from all the brutality with a nice melodic piano piece, "Persecute The Holy", which is more out of place than a Blind Guardian fan at a Krisiun concert. I could do without that part, but it's only 40 or so seconds, so it's no big deal. After that, it goes right back to beating the fuck out of your ears with a song that has a title I will not type out because it's too fucken long.

If you don't like brutal death metal, you will not like this band. If you like Brutal DM, or think Nile is the best Brutal DM band this side of Egypt, then this band will blow you the fuck away from whatever Egyptian Pyramid you dream of living in. It seems Texas has more than Steers and Queers, they've got excellent fucken death metal.
