Here we have a little EP from a now-defunct brutal death metal band by the name of Incestuous. 'Twas their only release, and this isn't a bad one at that.

The band, on this release, displays a rather technical, blisteringly fast style of brutal death metal. We've got around two dozen riffs a song, with the average song length clocking in at around 2 minutes (ignoring the large patch of silence at the end of Nailed Unmercifully). However, there's little technicality for the sake of technicality. There is a lot of tasteful variation that is easily discernable here, and there are a couple of killer breakdown-esque sections, most notably in Ethnic Cleansing. The drumming is hardly all blastbeats too, which should be a welcome treat for many.

The vocals totally own here, too. They are hardly overly-brutal, and really do hark back to old school death metal at times. There are two main vocal approaches here - a high pitched barking, shrieking approach, and a deep, more brutal growl. They suit perfectly the shortness of the songs, because you get enough variety simply from these two approaches to stop this release from ever stagnating on that front. Sometimes they accompany one another, but they don't sound layered. They sound like two distinct vocal tracks that are independent of one another.

Lyrically, this clearly aims to be not-so-subtle and blatantly offensive, but in a way that is far more humorous than most other death metal bands. Songs like Ethnic Cleansing, which is an extremely racist track to the point of hilarity make this stand out in my mind as one of the best brutal death metal releases I've heard, ever. There's six other tracks on here, too, most of which are so offensive they're funny.

All up, a great release. A total must have!!
