From the grief stricken ashes of Stranger By Day there was a purpose and an agenda. The initial dilemma was Stranger By Day was turning into a metal band fast and the members were unsatisfied with the lack of substance at the moment in the underground genres and the association with the soulless "cross genre" scene that was so undeserving. So the question was should Stranger By Day go straight metal not only alienating fans but also making it an uphill battle to win true lovers of all that is heavy? Or call it a day and start fresh? As can be seen the latter was chosen and the 4 members of Drag the Waters who once resided in Stranger By Day have not looked back since. Especially after teaming up with such a powerful metal drumming force as EC Hamilton; York Henderson, Russell Blair, Pat Rossano, and Brett Butler soon realized where their true place was.
